New Car: Timeline On License Plate Arrival

Purchased a used car from a dealership back in February 2021 and wanted to know when can i expect my license plates. Currently, I have a paper plate from the dealership and it's set to expire next month. What happens and what can I do if I don't receive my license plates before the paper plates expire.
