Never been to Texas and need recommendations

Hey y’all! Georgia couple here! We will be adopting a child soon (long story) and have to travel to Houston and will be in the area for at least 7 days. Since we’re going there and have never been, we want to make the most of it. We’re hoping for some recommendations.

1. We love our local tex-mex style restaurants and are stoked to get to try it in Texas closer to the source. What’s the best places to hit up?

2. Any other must try restaurants? We like any and everything.

3. Any thing we should try and see while we are there? This can be anything from local shopping areas or just things to do.

4 . Any neighboring areas we should check out? The wife already has Waco on her list of places to go.
