Networking for On-Site Hairstylist
Hey there, Houstonians! My name is Alexander. I spent 10 years in New York City working as an on-demand, on-location hairstylist: doing cuts, color/highlighting, and tons of styling wherever my clients needed me.
I’ve been in the beauty industry for 20 years, specializing in cuts, color, extensions, and especially on-location styling for video and photo shoots be it: editorial, commercials, music videos, runway, red carpet, VIP events, weddings, and more. I’ve had the chance to work with celebrities, Victoria’s Secret models, musicians, top executives, and all kinds of VIP clientele. I’m used to working side by side with makeup artists, on set, under time constraints, and always staying true to the brief from production or the director.
I say all this just to share a bit of my background. I moved back home to Houston for family reasons, but my heart is ready to get back in action, especially on set. When I wasn’t on set, I was in clients’ homes or hotel rooms, doing whatever they needed; whether it was red carpet prep, a gala look, or a full color and style change.
This post is mainly to put some feelers out and connect with anyone looking to collaborate. I’d love to join a team doing what I do, or link up with a makeup artist who has clients that could use an experienced on-demand hairstylist (makeup artists love me, I don’t yank clients around or make their job harder!). I’m open to any opportunities or networking. Traditional salon life isn’t really my thing anymore, I did that for years before jumping into the on-location world.
If you know anyone I should talk to, feel free to reach out — I’d love to connect!
