Neighbors moved and now people are going through house?

Basically the title, a week ago my neighbors moved and I have seen three different sets of people presumably break into the home. First time it was a woman alone with a shopping cart, she walked up the driveway behind the house and went through their full recycling/trash bins. Later that night she returned with the cart and a man and I’m pretty sure they slept in the backyard but I couldn’t tell for sure. I haven’t seen them since, but after that I saw a guy alone with a backpack walk up the drive way and I’m pretty sure break into the house. All the sudden the back door was wide open along with a window, the door stayed wide open for probably a full 24 hours and I didn’t see any movement, but within the last day or two the door was closed by someone, but the window is still fully open. I’m finally writing this because someone else is back in the yard going through the recycling. Calling the cops seems so excessive but it makes me so uncomfortable to be home alone when this happens and I’m always home alone for it. Also, because the neighbors left a ton of trash that the trash guys haven’t picked up, all these people have ripped open the bags and there is trash fucking everywhere, and it’s ending up in my yard too. Anyways. What the hell would y’all do?
