Neighborhood search: park, charm, and nice looking/feeling

Even with searching reddit/the internet, im having trouble finding the right neighborhood. I am looking for something near a large-ish park (I like to run/walk). Something with charm and looks nice rather than run-down. I currently live in Midtown in Atlanta, GA near piedmont park, for those who are familiar.

Moving in September to Houston. Neighborhood suggestions are greatly appreciated!
