Neighborhood search

Hello! My husband and I are moving to Houston for his work, which will be split between River Oaks and Katy – mostly in River Oaks though. I work from home.

We’re looking for something in between the two, but closer to River Oaks, but are having trouble finding a neighborhood which suits our needs. It seems it’s either super old rental homes or big large apartment complexes – none of which we really want. We’re looking for a relatively newer townhome in a safe and quiet neighborhood, with as minimal a commute as possible. Are there areas you recommend, or areas you think we should completely avoid?

I’ve noticed a bunch of ‘cookie cutter’ townhomes in areas called Dunvale Village and Briarmont, but not sure if it’s a good area or not…

This is going to be a 1-2 year lease, so we’re just looking for something comfortable and convenient.

Budget is ideally max at 2600 (it was initially 2300 but seems that might be rough to get in the areas we’re looking at).
