Need some guidance in finding care placement for my mom after she recovers from a stroke.

Any suggestions on how to find a good medical assisted home for my mom who suffered a stroke? She is going to be discharged from rehab in a couple of weeks and I need to find an affordable place. Any recommendations or things to know in finding a place? It's overwhelming doing internet research. I'm working with a few care placement agents but I'm not sure if their search will be comprehensive since they work on referrals. Any places you would or would not recommend? Possibility replacement service.

I prefer the Katy area as it's more convenient for me to check up on her. Do you have any suggestions for places I should consider or avoid? Additionally, are there any affordable options, and does anyone know if these places accept insurance?

What should I budget to pay and do they typically accept insurance? I think insurance only pays for rehab…not really a care facility (not sure if this is correct).

Some specific points to consider:

1. Vietnamese Presence: My mom might feel more comfortable in an environment with a Vietnamese presence. It's not a deal-breaker, but if anyone knows of such places, that would be helpful.
2. Financial Situation: My mom is covered by Texas Medicaid and receives social security disability. Does anyone have insights into how this might affect the cost or coverage of assisted living facilities?
3. Mobility Issues: Due to the stroke, my mom has difficulty moving the left side of her body. Any recommendations for places that are well-equipped to handle such mobility challenges would be invaluable.
