Need advice in planning a trip from Houston to Colorado

I've never planned my own trip and I'm a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to go to ask. I got permission after saving up from my parents to go but it's a bit scary tbh doing all this myself.

I'm planning on going to see Heilung in Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison Colorado.

The closest airport to me is the George Bush airport. But I'm having a hard time figuring out where my destination should be. I'm assuming Denver and then driving over? Has anyone made this trip before ?
