Need a good divorce lawyer for a strange situation

So I'm looking to get a divorce lawyer and I'm in a bit of a weird situation. I left a abusive relationship in 2015 and was planing to save up money to get a divorce. I would have just filed a cheap no fault divorce but we have a kid together and the cops wouldn't let me take him cause me leaving my husband left me homeless. A few years later one of his neighbors called the cops on him cause he left our son(5yrs old at the time) alone at home.

Cps got involved and I tried to apply for custody cause I had an apartment at the time but was unable to find a job (i assume due to me being upfront in job interviews about being involved in said court case and needing to take days off whenever court dates were scheduled.) I lost my apartment due to not finding a job to pay rent, my court appointed lawyer told me that the court would take my rights to my son away and if they did that then cps could come after any future children for any reason, but if I voluntarily gave up rights then any children I may have couldn't be taken away with out good reason. Out of fear I signed the paperwork.

Then later my abusive ex messages me and said he "prevented them from taking my rights away", recently he keeps saying to everyone that he's trying to divorce me but that I am trying to drag it out. Until 3 years ago he had my phone number and every address I lived at cause I lived with other people and I felt safe. I told him to send the papers and I would sign them. I also said I would come to his house and sign them provided i could bring someone with me for my safety and he said no.Texas law says if the party being served doesn't answer then the divorce is resolved in the favor of the person who initiated it.

Well I looked up the divorce case and it says he started it in 2019 but then he backed out of it later that year. Around 2020 he started messaging me from multiple numbers I didn't recognize saying that I need to divorce him and get it over with and then from his known number saying I was doing the same thing to him to the pointi had to change my number. I honestly don't know what's true anymore other than I'm still married on paperwork. Can anyone suggest a not expensive divorce lawyer to me that involves kids cause I don't know if my son is a part of this anymore due to his gaslighting? I know lawyers cost money but I don't want to pay a s**t ton for just a name.
