My thoughts on Dusty Baker and the Astros…

The way I see it with Dusty and the Astros:

Dusty likes to try out experimental lineups throughout the season to see what works. He also likes to put different players in weird situations in the regular season, especially around the first half of the season. I see it as him crafting for October. He ends up sacrificing 3-5 regular season wins by doing this, but he gains 1 postseason win, which is very crucial when you need 11-13.

I think the difference is that last year we were ahead and pretty much a lock for the division, and this year it’s a battle with south oklahoma. Right now I think he has switched from experimenting to getting back in front, and that’s what I see in these decisions. Let me know what you think!
