My case for Bill O’Brien. A Texans fan since the inception and an optimistic view of the future.
Let’s get right to it. The Hopkins trade looks horrible all around for our organization, but hear me out. First of all, almost none of the HOF WRs have a ring besides Jerry Rice. Secondly, yes I am making an attempt to defend OB in case you were wondering. Hypothetically Hopkins sits out this upcoming season wanting a pay raise on a deal that has 3 year left on it, understandable. What do we do then? I have no idea. I think OB (who came from a system where WR wasn’t even top 10 on priority) pulled the trigger. It looks bad and hurts worse for all of us, but I honestly think it might have been the smart move long term, freeing up space for tunsil and keeping Watson on major deals.
I don’t have much else and would love replies and add ons to this.
I will be a Texans fan for life no matter what so I try to be optimistic about everything, practically and economically.
