Mountain biking in Houston

I recently decided to pick up biking as a fun exercise/hobby. I live up towards spring, and there are a couple trails by spring creek, but just flat forests… I know Houston isn’t gonna have any mountain trails, but is there anything more fun/challenging around the city for biking?
