Mosquitos nonstop

I live in the Washington corridor area and since last summer 2021, the mosquitos have been a year-round major problem. We have no standing water in our yard, have 3 large traps with mosquito lure, and a spray system (Riptide) that we spray at night and before events. Our kids go to a daycare across the street and they equally have terrible mosquito issues. One thing I’ve noticed is since 2020, Houston has stopped regular spraying at night. Does anyone know why?

It seems like the problem is compounding into an all-season issue. I called Harris county to come to our block and evaluate for mosquito breeding grounds, and despite the fact that I can’t walk from my door to my car without getting bit, they predictably said there are no breeding grounds nearby. I would love for the city to spray at night again and actually care about the rampant issue rather than just tell us to wear bug spray to sit in our own backyards. I have friends all over town in neighborhoods and towns that spray regularly and they don’t have any of these issues.
