Mortgage company requiring hazard insurance?

Hi all,

TIA. My mortgage company, flagstar, is now stating hazard insurance is now required on my property and that they will be purchasing it on my behalf. I have been here (77077) since 2015, and they have had my mortgage since 2019. We have not made any recent changes to our homeowner policy and have not had any claims or issues associated with floods, or any incidents.

I've already reached out to them for further information and I'm awaiting a response. Trying to move quickly since they're forcing this on us.
