I called the emergency line at Centerpoint and communicated that I had a child and an elderly person in my house and due to extreme heat from not having power for five days, there was likely to be a heat exhaustion death at my house. I asked the rep to confirm she heard what I said. The rep, Ms Forman, stated that she did not have to confirm anything and proceeded to tell me that Centerpoint had no estimate for when my power would be restored.
That, my friends. Is the power service that we get in the fourth largest city in America. That is a shame, gross negligence, and completely unacceptable. Centerpoint and our politicians need to do better.
