MMP to McGowan solo female

Hello all, anxious Brit currently vacationing in Houston. Is area McGowan street/austin street/elgin street safe? I am also going to the game on Friday and wondering if public transport is fine enough or should just Uber.

Looking at the map it says I will have a 15 min walk from the stadium to train then 9 min walk from McGowan stop. Is that safe at night?
