Mission Control tour canceled… what now?

Hi everyone, I just got an email from Space Center Houston letting me know that my Mission Control tour for the morning of 9/18 has been canceled, since the building will be closed from the 15th through the 18th.

They offered me either a refund or a reschedule, but unfortunately I’ll only be in Houston on the 17th and 18th. I’m visiting from Italy with my wife on a long road trip, so we’re on a schedule, and the chances of me being back in Houston anytime soon are pretty slim. To be honest, the Space Center was supposed to be one of the highlights of the trip, and I was especially looking forward to the Mission Control part… so yeah, I’m pretty bummed right now.

That said, we still plan to use our general admission ticket. Do you think it’s worth asking them to switch our Mission Control tickets to another tour or package they offer, or should we just stick with the general admission experience?

Any advice from locals or people who’ve been recently would be hugely appreciated!
