Miss my city/home

So I’ve lived in Georgia for a little over 2 years now and just recently moved up to Atlanta for my new job but I’m finding myself extremely unhappy. I believe it’s homesickness but I really do miss my hometown and the area. I’m in the aerospace industry so there’s opportunity in Houston to move back if I want to. I just need to wait a year. Has anyone else moved away then instantly wanted to move back?
