Miserable night without electricity

Power went out around 7 pm yesterday. Texts from CenterPoint kept resetting our hope of when we’d get power back. “Soon” “9:46 pm” “11 pm” “1:11 am” and then silence.

Power returned at 8:44 am. At which point there were no less than four big company trucks with cranes, two company pickups, and three personal vehicles of all the guys fixing the transformer in my neighbor’s backyard.

Next time, I’m going to a hotel as soon as the power drops. My 90 year old mom and I spend the night hugging those frozen gel packs. And still barely slept.

Hope y’all had a better night than we did.
