Midtown safety

Hello! I just moved to midtown from Austin for a summer internship and was wondering about the safety. Is midtown walkable (ie I can walk to whole foods to get groceries instead of drive the few minutes)? I’m a 22yo female and the sub makes me a little nervous so just looking for insight!
