Meteor or plane crash?

We are down in brazos bend and this evening right about 8 we saw something crazy in the sky. It looked like flares popping off and then falling. Took about a minute to go from initial burst to falling low enough to go behind the trees. It was in the east like over rosharon or towards Alvin or league city.

By flares I mean the kind you see from like a jet. Fire colored and not red. Ultimately there were like 6 “fireballs” falling together and breaking apart. They were falling straight down.

Did anyone else see that?
