Mental health care options that will prescribe certain medications?

I had a video appointment this afternoon with a psychiatric / mental health Doctor who called me to ask for a quick summary of what we needed to discuss… and after a few minutes on the phone he informed me that it I was going to probably require controlled substances and since they aren't doing in-person visits yet they were not doing any controlled substance prescriptions so he had me cancel my appointment and told me to find someone else. I am fully aware that my brain is where the bats s**t so I'm hoping to find a doctor that will listen to me, allow me to continue to see them regularly, and be willing to give me medications that will actually help me and not just see the fact that I have tattoos and 'funny colored hair' and immediately jump to the assumption that I am seeking drugs.

I also need a doctor who is going to listen to me when I tell them that I'm sensitive to most medicines, including most ssris. The last doctor I was speaking to was very medication motivated. She had me taking stuff almost immediately.. and didn't take some of my more serious mental foibles into consideration and the combination she had me on cause a hallucinatory episode that had me tearing the whole house apart trying to catch kittens that weren't there so.. I'd rather not have a repeat of that day. Near the Katy area.
