Memorial park…Scorpions? Or crawfish?

I usually jog at Memorial Park in the early hours before dawn. Earlier today, I think I ran into a scorpion or a crawfish—it freaked me out! I was near the Clay Family Eastern Glades. Can anyone confirm what I might have seen, or am I just imagining things?
