Meet Tyra Miller | Founder of Faith In Her
We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyra Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tyra, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance has been a huge focus in the last few years, especially in the last 5 months since I moved to Houston. Just within the last 5 months, balance has changed drastically for the better! When I think of balance I think of self prioritization and mindfulness. Through many life coach sessions and more, I’ve learned it’s key to listen to my Spirit and surrender control. My Spirit will tell me when I’m imbalanced, which usually points to the lack of prioritizing the things that help me stay balanced – Like making time for hobbies, stillness, self-care habits, etc. Creating a spiritual-work-life balance is one of the key motivators behind my brand Faith In Her.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Although I’m still fairly new to the city, I’ve been exploring myself and have discovered some amazing spots that I can’t wait to share.
As a coffee enthusiast, I’d recommend hitting up Fifth Vessel, Wild, Refuge, Brass Tacks, and Sunday Press– just a taste of the vibrant coffee scene here! Dining-wise, try Daily Gather for lunch, Postino Heights for brunch, and Trattoria Sofia for dinner.
On the weekends, I’m all about immersing myself in Houston’s rich culture and browsing through the local farmers markets. Saturday mornings are perfect for exploring the Urban Harvest Farmers Market – it’s a great way to experience the local produce and crafts. Also, The Heights Mercantile is another gem. However, my personal favorite is Mala Market – it’s the ultimate destination for supporting local vendors and discovering unique finds.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well since I’m somewhat new to the city, I’m still exploring myself. However, these are some of my favorite places so far!
– City Center, to have lunch at Daily Gather
– Hit one of the farmers markets during the weekend, so far I like Urban Harvest Farmers Market on Saturdays, Heights Mercantile Market
– Mala Market – for local shopping
– MKT – nice area to grab coffee, food, shop
– The Post
– Postino Heights for brunch

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out Aliyah Joye, Founder of (Blue)m. Collective. Aliyah is someone I met shortly after I moved to Houston and I’m so glad we connected. She’s a woman of faith and many talents. She strives to encourage creatives through diverse mediums from bible studies, dance, consulting, and more!
