We had the good fortune of connecting with TJ Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TJ, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We wanted to make Professional Photography affordable.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We do all location photography. Most of our clients feel more at ease in their own environment. At your home or at the park. We try not to break the bank. We try to keep our prices affordable. We’re not fancy. If you like what we do, we can do it for you. We got here by Organizations inviting us to do their show. We don’t seal business, we wouldn’t want someone to do that to us. It’s just not right, so why do it. We do a little bit of everything. We do a lot of Livestock photography, but we can do a wedding or Sr Pictures as well. We love Rodeo. We do that when we can. Rooftop in Estes Park Co is one of our favorites. Its Rodeo People.. they are a family. We do this part time. Its fun, we enjoy it. Turning it into a full time business has never been the plan.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d probably hang out at the house.. Fire up the BBQ Pit for Brisket Ribs and Chicken. Maybe take a drive in the country… just to see the land. If the timing is right, a trip to Rodeo Houston is always a good idea. We’ve found a few burger places that we really enjoy. But mostly, keep it simple. Light a fire in the fire pit for Smores…

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We got our start at the Harris County Fair. Dick Atkins told me if he liked me, I’d be back. We did the show for 25 years. That opened the door for many new opportunities.
