We had the good fortune of connecting with Star Rolla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Star, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Coming from the streets it taught me that your either gone be the lion or the gazelle eat or be eaten In that gave me my determination. I never was the person to care about what the next person was doing ! That gave me more time to focus on me. I’m I was raised by my parents In brother to know one thing if I wanted to get it by any means but watch out for my close friends they’ll be the one to slow my process.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a American Singer & Songwriter born and raised in Philadelphia. A Philly kid who move to Houston because of a dream. A Philly kid who went from playing ball to free styling in parking lots. As I kept writing and making clips and reading I learned what it mean to be different. I was setting myself aside from most Philly rappers and singers that talk about killing , drugs etc. I became one of the most versatile artist in Philly because of my ability to sing , rap , Harmonize , freestyle about anything that was put in front of me or came to mind love, sex, drugs, life, the streets, what I been through that most kids in Philly and around the world can relate to . In that is what made me better than most. For me it wasn’t a dream becoming my reality it was like this game choose me. Star Rolla I just played the game and ended up being the better opponent. Life is a gamble either you gone take the chance and die trying or you gone let god do his job in hope it work out . I did both and the results had been endless.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m definitely taking my friends to south streets for sure . That’s the #1 place to be you got everything we live in one place. Liquor , girls , food and you end up seeing the craziest sh** by 1am . In one more place is the races. It’s when all the cars meet in one place and we do burnouts and spin our cars. Until we get chase over the city by the law and then it’s a new location. Just the love for the city and the excitement. Everybody love fast and furious. Philly is definitely it

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give recognition to my family for being my biggest supporters , my daughter and my friends. They made me go harder and apply the most pressure. In my street team H.N.I.C they were my backbone in making sure the city knew we was coming and about to place a imprint on the city and the culture.
