Meet Omozee Agbe-rankhe | Makeup Artist
We had the good fortune of connecting with Omozee Agbe-rankhe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Omozee, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts. Yes I’m a long way from home!! I’ve always had a knack for makeup, taking it all the way back to 8th grade, i remember the first eyeshadow palette my mother got me. It was a small clear square full of neutral browns, i was obsessed!!! Fast forward just a a few years to highschool i remember putting glitter on my cheeks one day and someone saying to me why do you have shimmer on your face… this was circa 2008/2009 before highlight was popular or anyone really knew about it. Makeup has always been a love of mine, so i decided to sharpen my skills and put myself out there.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I currently work in the BioPharma industry as a Quality Assurance consultant. When i first started my career in 2017 fresh out of college with my Biology degree i was working as a Manufacturing associate working 12 hour shifts rotation between 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm it was a struggle. I worked my way up to the place i am now while also trying to complete a master degree, it has not been easy but come December 2023 this woman can say she had her MPH and that’s what i continue to push for. There has been many setbacks and challenges during my career, i mean i even moved here to Houston to get the job title (manufacturing supervisor) i wanted since there wasn’t much diversity/ inclusivity in Massachusetts. During my time in manufacturing my grades were slipping, i got 2 C+ in my prior MHA program which forced me to transfer credits to the MPH program and set me back another year. With my new role and program God has set me up for success, my job is less stress and i love what i do, and gives me more time to focus on my school work I’ve been averaging A- in almost every class since i switched jobs early 2022. It may sound cliche but it’s true, for every set back there’s a major comeback and even if im not exactly where i want to be right now I’m exactly where God needs/ wants me to be and i know great things are coming.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Funny cause my bestie just came to visit, she’s more of a homebody so I’d like to keep it simple
Nomad
Mary’s
Belle station
IPic
Zanti
Joey uptown
Memorial city mall
Cielito cafe – Mexican breakfast
Harry’s
These are some of the places we went to while she was here, we both don’t like big crowds and a lot of commotion so it was perfect.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my mom, my siblings Jessica and missy, my best friend Janessa and the woman who helped me sharpen my skills Caitlin also known as Bronzedartistrymua. Thank you to every single one of you for speaking life into my plans, well speaking life into ME. It’s easy to feel discouraged and like you don’t know where to start but the support i receive from you all helps me push through my starting phase and i look forward to the day where I’m getting booked consistently. THANK YOU
