Meet Jessica Rose Huang | Public Servant & Community Advocate
We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Rose Huang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica Rose, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Fear of failure births analysis paralysis. If we allow ourselves to only move forward out of our comfort zone when it appears conditions are âall in the clearâ, weâll move at a snailâs pace. Drying out in the heat of the sun, wondering why we didnât get anywhere.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As food shortages increase, food prices will hike. Texans are going to look for alternative ways to feed themselves. Running a farmersâ market is my incognito way of fortifying our community with a sustainable food source. At the moment, Iâm meeting with leaders and decision makers who can make direct impact in Texas about upcoming food shortages. It doesnât take any convincing of the matter. My hope in these discussions is to inspire progressive problem solving to prevent a reactive consequence due to lack of planning. Itâs really pertinent to have a mitigation plan in place when thousands of Texans will feel the heat of increased food prices. Every level of government, every industry, and all sectors of our society should look within their scope of practice and configure plans in the event this takes place in the future.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Vote with the dollar. Local is such an easy way to make a huge impact in our local economy. I went to Da Vinci Restaurante Italiano in Katy recently. The food is superb, the atmosphere is artistically epic.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In the spirit of risk, I admire my husband for teaching me to move forward quickly when things go awry. His frequent go-to phrase is âDonât should on yourselfâ. It makes me laugh, but in reality, it sets my mindset to learn quickly and move on. Regret is limerence in disguise, so desiring for the past to change but never will. A driver canât continue forward staring in the rear-view mirror.
