Meet Jamie Frank | Cloth Diaper Educator and Advocate
We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Frank and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Sweet cuddly babies lovingly expand our hearts and families daily. With their grand entrance, many moms never consider the problems with using disposable diapers. Disposable diapers are one of the biggest drivers of environmental and household waste. Inflation has done us no favors as the cost of this essential infant item continues to rise. Expensive disposables are a drag on a family’s budget, contribute to diaper rashes, and are the reason for one of mom’s biggest headaches – blowouts!
I am a mom who cloth diapered my two children over the course of four years. So, I know, firsthand that there is a better way! The solution lies in cloth diapering. I created Cloth Cuties to help moms – especially black and brown moms – learn about cloth diapering and the simplicity of this method. Cloth Cuties is a cloth diapering brand and education platform that helps moms simplify cloth diapering.
When I began cloth diapering, I was the only one of my friends to do it. It was lonely. Through our social media channels and YouTube videos, we are building a community that helps moms become aware of cloth diapering, and move from anxiety to a smooth diapering experience that saves them thousands of dollars through their diapering years!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career began in television sales and moved into the wealth management industry after I received my MBA. Television sales gave me insight into marketing and strategies that help me tell the story of Cloth Cuties and help people connect to me and the brand. There’s also a certain hustle you need in TV sales – that comes in handy as I grind and burn the midnight oil to make my passion project a household name and standout cloth diapering brand.
In 2013, I shifted to wealth management. This career helped me understand the true value of impeccable client interactions, value-added content, and strong communication. These tenants are useful as I establish the processes and strategies that will set Cloth Cuties apart from other brands.
I’m proud of the unique experiences that I’ve had in my career and I can see the level of excellence it adds to my budding business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My bestie and I are definitely going everywhere black-owned! I love to support black-owned businesses in the city. One of my favorite places is Taste Bar! So after traveling in, we’d definitely need to catch up over a tasty cocktail and great food.
I’m not much of a clubber anymore, but we’d have to make sure that our travel plan included live music. I really enjoy the Sunday brunch vibes at Thirteen.
In the summer, we’d likely hit a movie-in-the-park at Emancipation Park. We’d have to be sure to take sweet treats from Crumbville. Yummmm. Give me the Cookie Minaj, please!
Lastly, I haven’t done it yet, but I’m really looking forward to catching a comedy show at Phil & Derek’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shout-out to my inspiration – my two beautiful children and my biggest cheerleader – my husband, DeJuan.
