Meet Dinetria Davis | Sweet Treats; Custom Designs & Arrangements
We had the good fortune of connecting with Dinetria Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dinetria, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My work life balance has been very challenging. Sometimes I’ll start to feel a little overwhelmed, but then I’ll tell myself that the reward is after all my labor. Because I love what I do, I tend to always find relief, there is peace in dipping! LOL, yes I said it. Covid has really kept D&D busy. I realized that if I just think about the balance then I’ll be a little on the edge. However if I stop, breathe, step back, think, and then react my work life balance works out just right.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So for the last 13 years I’ve been in the healthcare field. Thats alone keeps me pretty busy, but I love being an entrepreneur. I’m most proud about the quality of service that I have created. It wasn’t easy getting where I am today because of challenges. There are times that I just want to give up, but I realize that God has blessed me with different gift that sets me aside from everyone else. The lessons I have learned along the way is that no matter how tough it gets and no matter how many times you fall, get back up, dust yourself off and try again. Hmmm what do I want the world to know? I want my customers to most importantly experience love at first bite.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Sooooo my favorites spots in city!!! Well of course I’m gonna start with the TLH (Turkey Leg Hut), have a juicy off the bone stuffed turkey leg, a frozen 1942 Rita, and then order me a hookah and sit back and vibe to the beat. Look that place be popping! I also like to hang at Chapman and Kirby, Their scenery kinda reminds me of the backyards I used to play in when I was younger. Lol! So I love going there. Its like an adult backyard. I don’t visit to many places because o f covid so I’ll have to start my hangout favs list over for 2021.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So, I was featured in your magazine back in 2020. I pretty much feel the same way I did last time. First and for most, the big credit goes to my husband Jovon Davis for putting up with all my ideas and kaoss to get D&D started. But there wouldn’t be a D&D without my family member Monique Hobbs, (a well know socialite in the Houston area) who saw my talent and pushed me until my passion was created. She also introduced my to the CEO of Boost 1 Marketing, Sherrie Hendros (The best publicist in Houston) who immediately started working with me, with no hesitation. Sherry also was sort of an enforcer like Moe (my enforcer). She comes with ideas and the deadlines behind it that always keep me in crunch time. I was actually featured on WB39 with Shannon Lanier and Sharon Melton for a Mardi Gras segment last March. Now that was awesome. I still glow every time I think about me being on live television. Last but not least my little sister Kendra Stephens, she’s the masterpiece and social media manager and let me tell you something, she is amazing at what she does. She works our social media platforms with her eyes closed. If you know anyone with a business that needs assistance on their social media platforms, she’s your person. I’m also in the process of starting my second business venture with another sister, however Kendrea will be the social media manager of that platform also. I take no credit for these platforms because she gets the job done. What can I say “Im Blessed”.
