Meet Beata Bober-Gorzkowski: Self though resin artist
We had the good fortune of connecting with Beata Bober-Gorzkowski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beata, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Laughing as I’m reading And thinking of answering this question . Reason why is because my eighth grade art teacher once told me “Beata focus your energy somewhere Else as I don’t wanna fail you so I’ll give you a passing grade yet you do not have one artistic bone in your body” with that said that was the end of me trying to go into arts and crafts. It wasn’t until years later when unfortunately I had to be on my own and become very creative of how to stretch a dollar and make it go along way. That’s why and without thinking about what my art teacher say I got into flipping furniture painting them restoring them and eventually selling them to help me and my boys get through a tough times.Since then I decided to pretty much try every craft an art that there is. I was always very passionate about art and always wanted to prove myself that I can do it. Although I have not succeeded in many of the arts and crafts that I have tried I ultimately found my biggest passion which right now is my current business. That is fine and functional resin artwork. It’s funny how sometimes life unravels and how we may have to go threw life for awhile before we find the right path. Now it feels good I could prove my teacher wrong. I believe that if you love what you do you never work a day in your life

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Resin art -Great combination of natural healing stones and crystals mixed with resin to create one of a kind unique look. Early on in the process I knew that I wanted to be create stuff that any one would be able to afford from small functional art pieces like – chessboard trays or coasters to large more expensive fine art pieces. I must say that I’m proud of myself for being persistent and believing in myself to push through hard times even though I have failed many times before. If there was a message behind me and my brand to the world then it would have to be this : “ if a girl who immigrated from Poland without the language Family or further education , was able to take myself through life with a dream of making something of myself and pursuing my dream- then I guarantee you “so can you” “follow your dream and go for it, don’t let anything stand in your way.”
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being that I’ve only been in the city for three years and we were affected by the pandemic for a year of that. I would say we both would be exploring the city starting in the heights and just kind of making our way trying random places to eat. Making our way to the Houston’s zoo and Museum.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Here I must say that the credit will go to my fiancé Michael Gorzkowski. Never in my life that I have a person who supported me encouraged me on every day basis to go and follow my passion but he dose. Thanks to him and the support of my two sons I was able to go on my own and start my own business. He encouraged me to think about my passion not just as a hobby but an actual business. Michael is and always was my biggest admire and biggest supporter and everyone needs that to succeed.
