Meet Angelique Gonzalez | Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelique Gonzalez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angelique, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always wanted to model, but I had the mindset that you had to be apart of an agency and pay money just to model. I was completely wrong. I started to model in 2015, when a non profit organization “Cupcake Meet” was looking for models. I submitted photos and was chosen! Since then, I have done many shoots all over Houston and promo jobs ever since!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Aside from modeling, I am the general manager at a dog resort. I have been there 5 years and I absolutely adore my job. We have great customers and the dogs are always the highlight of my day. I started as a kennel technician and made my way towards management. It’s not easy. People always think it’s just playing with dogs but it’s more than that. We are responsible for their well being and making sure not only they have fun but to go home happy!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite areas to visit is in Bellaire. I really enjoy Asian food and culture. I love visiting that area to try a new restaurant and hit up a local shop to purchase some anime merchandise. Two hands is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend their hot Cheetos corn dog!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I most definitely want to shoutout all the wonderful people that were apart of Cupcake Meet. Although they aren’t active anymore, they jump started my modeling passion and I can’t thank them enough. I also want to thank my husband for always supporting me and helping me to follow my dream.
