Mechanic internships in the midtown area?

I’m a fresh high school graduate and I want to get into the auto mechanic industry however I know only a few basic skills like changing oil and switching out brake pads. I was looking to see if anybody knows local dealerships or independent shops offering hands on exposure, paid training, internships, anything like that. I’m very willing to learn and put forth the effort so any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
