Me and My Son’s First Baseball Game, And His First Foul Ball
| |
At our very first game, the Astros beat the Rangers 9-2. They also proceeded to score 7 runs in the 7th inning after my son caught Tucker's foul ball. Hey everyone! I told my son I would post this here, because he wanted everyone to know how excited he was. I, a 34-year old, had never been to a baseball game. I always found the sport boring, I couldn't watch it, it wasn't for me. Whenever anyone heard me say that, they always said while they understood, they also said it's probably because I had never been to a game. I grew up on football and basketball, not baseball. Long story short, just wasn't a sport that appealed to my family and I. Fast forward to me having a 9-year old, I always want him to experience anything positive I couldn't. I was told there was nothing like going to a baseball game, so we finally went. We had the time of our lives. Everyone was nice, kind, welcoming, wanted to share their first baseball story, and wanted to make sure my little man had the time of his life, and boy did he. With the help of people around him (and me of course haha) he caught his first foul ball. At his first game. Another fan next to us then proceeded to get his first foul ball for the first time in over 40 years of going to baseball games (his words). My son was then labeled a "lucky charm" for the rest of the day by Astros fans. Here are some pictures and short videos of his time there. It made our weekend, and I thank every Astros fan (and even Rangers fans) for making it a good time for him and me. We won't forget it. I know he won't. https://reddit.com/link/1c5pvbf/video/xdsytrt1ewuc1/player submitted by /u/TheBlackSpeed |
