Martin Maldonado?

Hey all, yankee fan here who comes in peace. When I saw Martin as a catcher finalist for the all star game little to say I was very surprised to say the least lol. Anyways, how is he doing statistically? Does he deserve to be an all star? How does he compare to the top catchers in the AL? Thank you in advance for any insight.
