Mail in Option Italian Consulate

Hi everyone! I have a study abroad to Rome in January and obviously I require a Visa but just like everyone who’s asked, I had trouble getting an appointment. I saw a post where someone used the mail in option and I decided to as well as I fit the requirements! I was looking at the FAQ on the website and it says that due to mail issues and stuff that they strongly recommend an in person pick up of your passport! Sweet! I explicitly mentioned all over my package of documents that I wanted to pick up the visa and left my contact information. It’s about to be a month since it’s been delivered and im wondering if anyone else has gone through this mail in option. I’m a little worried that I should have done the mail the passport back option but im trying to be open minded! My flight isn’t until the second week of January so I have time but just getting a little worried! Thank you all so much! Happy Travels!
