Macy’s appears to be planning a new type of standalone store in Texas

Cincinnati-based department store giant Macy’s Inc. (NYSE: M) appears to be planning a new type of standalone store separate from its six existing brands.

Listings on Macy’s job posting website include five positions for a “new retail concept at Macy’s” in Southlake, Texas. The existence of the store was first reported by WWD (Women’s Wear Daily), which quoted sources saying the store would focus on health, beauty and wellness with an “apothecary-based” theme.
