Low cost/good vets in sw houston

We became a dog family this year—my doggo is about to need her first annual check up. I’m overwhelmed by the options for vets-I see some people comment that while certain vet is good for filing prescriptions from online places, they are expensive for everything else etc etc. any recommendations for sw houston—in particular Meyerland/Bellaire for vets who will authorize prescriptions for chewy but aren’t terribly expensive? I’ve heard bad things about ready pet, I’ve heard mixed reviews on westbury animal clinic. Thanks
