Looking to work for myself
Hi all! A little about me: I'm in my mid-30s and have lived in Houston my entire. Now married with a toddler and another on the way. I currently work in tech remotely, and my wife owns her own residential real estate company. We both make very good money for our age, but I've always wanted to work for myself. I very often feel unfilled and lack of ownership working for "the man". (I know, first world probs). I've always desired to work in real estate in some capacity due to the entrepreneur spirit, potential income, and possibilities for creativity. However, I've been reluctant to make the switch due to the stability, compensation, benefits, and true "time away" working in tech. I've briefly looked into a few franchise opportunities, but we're not quite at the net worth to qualify for the few major chains I've inquired about. I'd love to feel like I'm a true part of the community.
For those of you that work for yourself in the Houston area, are there any suggestions or advice you could lend to help me determine what I should do? I appreciate any help you're able to provide!
