Looking for somewhere to rent a beach house for a weekend this summer. Any recommendations?

I'm a native Houstonian, but its been a LONG time since I've stayed with some folks in a beach house, I can't remember where my family and their friends visited when I was a kid. I was hoping someone here might have some recommendations for what areas I should be looking for a place like that for me and my friends.

I think the absolute farthest I'd want to go is Corpus Christi, but I was hoping to find someplace closer.

Ideally, it'd be somewhere that beach houses are available within walking distance from the beach. Any ideas?
