Looking for some updated info about Fulshear vs. Friendswood
We are remote work from home folks. We are comparing these 2 suburbs for a move from the East Coast. Curious about differences between school districts (Lamar/fulshear high) vs Friendswood. We visited this past summer and did not have a chance to tour the schools. Fulshear seemed very remote and no cute downtown with little restaurants that we could see. Just kind of generic suburbia though nice dog park and park ish area in cross creek ranch. In Friendswood we observed more of a community feel, more proximal to Houston. Housing market seems pricier but not as booming as Fulshear. We liked the housing options better in Fulshear but on paper schools were not as impressive in Fulshear. Considering going back for a second trip to tour schools and gather more impressions before making a move.
We don’t have to commute and about once monthly we would use the airport (George Bush).
Friendswood seems to have more wind and flood potential as well as higher property taxes and insurance costs.
We are looking at these 2 towns in part because we have a child who doesn’t do well with early school schedule (adhd time blindness). These schools seem to have later schedules which is less stressful on our family.
Side note – We really like Tomball (cute downtown, awesome housing options) but school runs early….
Didn’t love Katy…checked that out. Liked sugar land, but again school runs early.
