Looking for restaurant options between Space Center and IAH while avoiding downtown

My family and I are visiting NASA around noon on Sunday and are hoping to squeeze in one more meal on the way to our early evening flight. Any recommendations for somewhere tasty along our route? BBQ or Tex-Mex would be great but we’re omnivores. I’m assuming it’s best to stay east to avoid downtown traffic (especially with Texans game and NYE). Thanks.
