Looking for recommendations for a reputable arborist to check on/trim the ginormous oak tree in my yard (and in the ROW)
I have a massive, gorgeous oak tree in my front yard. I am looking to get recommendations for a reputable arborist that has some experience with preserving ancient oaks in Houston. I bought the property a year ago and have been meaning to hire someone to come give the tree a "check up" and recommend proper care. I also need to have some of the branches trimmed since they are getting very close to my roof and others are running through powerlines that hang over the street. The tree is in the city's right of way, and I know that Centerpoint could come trim the tree for free. However, this thing is a gem I'd like to protect from a butcher job. I also don't want to stress the tree by over trimming during a drought, and I can't image that Centerpoint cares that much. I know the previous owner paid out of their own pocket to trim the tree and have it's health assessed (unfortunately, I don't know the company). I'd like to continue that because, in addition to loving plants/trees, my street would be butt ugly if this thing ever dies and has to be removed.
