Looking for help with Police car auctions

I’m looking to buy my first car at a police auction (I’m a broke postgrad don’t judge) and looking for some advice. What would you look into if you had 30 minutes to judge a car/suv ? FYI: Most of these vehicles are over 150k miles so yes I do know there’s a potential risk for failures for alternator and trans. Appreciate any feedback !
