Looking for beer, a Nova Scotian, turned Albertean visits Texas
Good evening, r/beer community! I'm excited I'll be visiting Houston at the end of September and I'm on the lookout for some great brewery recommendations. My personal preference leans towards Belgian sours, especially gueuze and Flanders reds. To give you an idea, I absolutely love Boon Oude Geuze Black Label and anchorage's brewing black sour. However, I'm also open to exploring any brewery that's pushing the boundaries with unique and fun offerings, particularly if they specialize in barrel-aged products, fremont and goliath come to mind, but am wanting to try some local brews. Brew pubs are also very welcome.
During my trip, I'll be based in Kemah, but I plan to explore various parts of Houston throughout the week and 1 night in dallas. If anyone knows of any liquor stores in the area with a solid selection of Anchorage Brewing, cantillion or Jester King products, that would be a fantastic bonus. Of course, I'm more than willing to consider any brewery that offers something distinctive or intriguing. Looking forward to your valuable suggestions!
Also do you boys make any decent spirits, love me a good whisky
