Looking for beaches near Houston

Hi! My girlfriend and I are visiting Houston for the first time to go to a concert and the NASA center. Neither of us have ever seen the ocean and we would love to drive out to a (preferably quiet) little beach where we can see the ocean. We don’t plan on sunbathing or really doing anything recreational, it would just be nice to take a walk along the beach together for the first time. Do the lovely people of Houston know any good spots that might not be too crowded or commercial?
