Looking for a small or medium business client

Hello everyone! Unsure if this goes here or in the classified section.

I'm currently a junior at the University of Houston – and I'm taking a class in the College of Technology that deals with database theory and management. My project group is currently looking for a small or medium sized business client that has a problem that could use a solution. (This application is entirely free, by the way)

We can take existing digital data formats (plain text storage, Excel spreadsheet storage, etc) and turn them into a working database solution.

We're working on a two semester course project – we will build a custom database application based around SQL, and we will build a custom Python or Java front end around it.

Note that you won't be required to use the actual database and the application – if you choose not to.

Here are some outlines for solutions that we CANNOT build:

· POS (Point-of-sale) services – off-the-shelf products already exist

· Payroll services – off-the-shelf products already exist

· Inventory services – off-the-shelf-products already exist

We also request that you have a physical business location – this way we can meet up and discuss any requirements, and measure current computing performance.Additionally, we cannot work with non-profit or charitable organizations. We are required to build a budgetary report.

If this sounds like something you would be excited to help us work on – feel free to reach out to me here, and we can solidify details.
