Looking for a neighborhood with craft beer bars and hotels

Hello. I'll be visiting Houston at the end of July for a few days. I'll be busy most of the day until maybe 6 or 7pm and I'm hoping to enjoy some craft beer before heading back to the hotel. Is there a known neighborhood in Houston where I could stay? I'll be spending my days mostly in clear lake city. I don't mind a drive if there's hotels near the bars.
