Looking for a home based hair color specialist

Hello, I have been wanting to dye my hair to a bright auburn color. I recently got my hair done with a home based stylist/colorist and she did not bleach my hair before putting on the color. My natural hair is black so it didn’t give the effect that I wanted. It’s more like a tint in my opinion. I have been to different salons for consultations but they all charge a lot. I don’t mind paying for a job well done but I can’t afford to pay $600-$900 out of pocket. Not to mention the frequent touchups. The lady I went to didn’t charge that much. Which got me wondering if anyone could recommend a home based color specialist in/or near Houston Tx. Thanks in advance!
