Looking for a decent place to rent a house for ~1500/month

Me and my girlfriend have pretty much had it with apartments and we’re ready to look for a house to rent while we save up a bit to buy one (and raise our credit scores). We’re out in Near Bellaire/the toll way right now.

She works pretty much downtown, and I work in the galleria area, so I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for houses that would be about 30-40 minute drives from our work in traffic? Our budget is pretty much capped at 1500/month, and we’re looking for a decent area. My only real desire is a drive way that I can work on our cars, but other than that we’re not too picky. We’re also open to town homes as well.
